The cost of routine eye exams and prescription eyewear can be of real concern, especially for large families. In many cases, vision insurance can lower these annual expenses.
A vision insurance policy is not the same as health insurance. Regular health insurance plans protect you against financial losses due to unexpected eye injuries or disease. Vision insurance, on the other hand, is a wellness benefit designed to provide routine eye care, prescription eyewear and other vision-related services at a reduced cost.
Because we provide both medical and routine eye care, we accept a number of insurance plans to help cover the cost depending on your individual needs. Here are just some of the plans that we accept:
Insurance Plans we Accept at Our Colorado Springs Practice
- Eyemed Vision Care
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Superior Vision
- Kaiser Permanente
- AARP Medicare Complete
- Aetna Medicare
- Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal
- Eye Med
- Railroad Medicare Beneficiaries
- Rocky Mountain Health Plans
- United Health Care
- Vision Care Direct
All plans vary so we advise you to contact your health insurance provider or employer to determine what type of vision insurance plan you have and your eligibility.
Keep in mind that your insurance plan is a contract between “you” and “your insurance company”. Not all services may be covered under your plan. It is your responsibility to cover any co-pays, deductible amounts, or any other balance not paid by your insurance company.
We will strive to help you receive your maximum allowable benefits. Remember to bring your insurance card to the office with you at the time of your visit. Please contact our office if you have any questions and we will be happy to assist you in any way possible.
